Privacy Policy

SaleSweeper is designed to collect as little as possible. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control. Plain English, no legal jargon.

What we collect

  • Your account email address, so you can sign in.
  • The retailers you've added as favourites.
  • Your notification preferences (in-app alerts, email digest opt-in).
  • Retailer requests you submit.
  • Outbound click events when you go from SaleSweeper to a retailer's site.
  • Basic technical logs used for security and debugging.

Why we collect it

We use this information to run your account, send you the alerts you asked for, improve which retailers we cover, measure whether outbound links are useful (including for affiliate performance), and keep the service running safely.

Email

Email notifications are opt-in. You can turn them off from your settings page or use the unsubscribe option included in marketing or alert emails. In-app alerts are controlled separately.

Analytics

SaleSweeper uses its own application records, such as outbound retailer clicks and operational event data, to understand whether features are useful and to improve the service. We do not currently use a separate third-party behavioural analytics platform.

Service providers and where data is processed

SaleSweeper uses service providers to host and operate the service, including Vercel for application hosting, Supabase for account authentication and database storage, and Resend for email delivery. Our primary application database is hosted in Australia. Some providers may process limited technical or delivery data outside Australia as part of their global infrastructure. Resend may process your email address when email needs to be delivered to you.

Cookies and browser storage

SaleSweeper uses essential session and browser storage needed for sign-in, preferences and site operation. If you follow an outbound retailer or affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may use its own cookies or tracking technologies under its own privacy policy.

Retailers and affiliate links

SaleSweeper does not sell or share your email address with retailers. Some outbound links to retailers may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you buy something. That never changes the price you pay. See our Affiliate disclosure for details.

Retention, access and correction

We keep account-linked information while your account is active and for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service. You can update your account preferences in SaleSweeper and ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate. When an account is deleted, account-linked records are deleted or anonymised as described below.

Deleting your data

You can delete your SaleSweeper account at any time from Settings. This removes your account-linked data such as followed retailers, alerts, notification preferences and email preferences. Some non-identifying aggregate records (for example anonymised click counts used for reliability and analytics) may be retained with your user identifier removed. If you'd rather we handle deletion for you, use the Contact pageand we'll take care of it.

Privacy questions and complaints

If you have a privacy question, want to access or correct personal information, or wish to make a complaint, contact us through the Contact page. We will review privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable time. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you are not satisfied with the response.
